Volunteer Position Descriptions and Responsibilities

Please note that all volunteer casino positions are straight forward and not difficult. You will receive training and assistance from the Cash Cage/Count Room Advisor and Casino staff. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!

General Manager

  • Point of communication for Casino Coordinator.
  • Oversees cash cage along with Casino Advisor.
  • Witnesses payouts; can fill in for other positions, if needed.
  • No personal laptops in the cash cage.

Banker

  • Controls cash cage floats of chips and cash.
  • Assisted by Casino Advisor.
  • Busy only during opening, volunteer shift changes, and closing of the casino.
  • No personal laptops in the cash cage.

Cashier

  • Cashes in chips for players.
  • The cashier has an own float; does not share cash/chip float with anybody.
  • Being comfortable counting money is helpful to this position.
  • No personal laptops in the cash cage.

Chip Runner

  • Runner for chip orders from casino tables.
  • The position is usually busy at the opening and closing of the casino.
  • Volunteers must be able to carry up to five pounds (2 kilograms) of chips.
  • Chip runners are in the volunteer lounge in between chip runs; laptops are allowed in the lounge.

Count Room Supervisor

  • Works with Countroom Advisor in recording cash counts and game wins and losses.
  • Not required to handle cash.
  • No personal laptops in the countroom.

Count Room Staff

  • Sorts amalgamate, counts and verifies all cash from table game drop boxes.
  • Cash handling skills are an asset.
  • No personal laptops in the countroom.

Back-up Volunteer

  • Back-up volunteers must be prepared to fill in with short notice. When you sign-up for this position, make yourself available like you were volunteering for a regular shift.
  • If you are not called, you do not need to come in.
  • Back-up volunteers only earn points if they come into the casino to work a shift.

Following are Important Rules for a Volunteer

  • It is essential to arrive on time for your shift. The casino tables cannot open without all volunteers in place.
  • You must bring photo ID to your shift.
  • If cancellation is necessary, notify the Casino Chair as soon as possible.
  • The casino is non-smoking.
  • The dress is casual, but please no torn or immodest apparel.
  • Bring reading glasses, if needed, for small screens on hand-held devices.
  • Free parking stalls are available on site. No reserved area for volunteers – first-come, first park! Plenty of parking space.

Volunteers CANNOT gamble in any way, shape or form at our casino for the entire 2 days, nor consume alcohol or cannabis before or while working.
